It may not entirely be the foodstuffs you're eating. It could also be the effects of drinking water, or consuming processed foodstuffs that uses the "local water", that has a small difference in its chemical and environmental make-up, as well as its biological content, that you are used to in Oz. Perhaps?

I am definitely not accustomed to a diet that is close to 100% corn. But yes, the water may have an impact, I agree.

*grin* well, I am happy to eat much of it, because I know exactly what it is. It's kind of sad that we would accept that such a thing is probably true though, it was not in the past.

Has anyone seen this movie ? I am reading the book. I'd love to get some info on how bad the food industry is in Australia, compared to the USA, where it's plainly shot to hell. I've always known that. I get ill every time I am in the US, and even eating at good restaurants, I find I need to go to the toilet 10 times a day instead of once. I've been in to growing our own organic food for years, but I've never really read on how bad the industrial system is before.

You are reading more into it than is there. It is just getting used to the microbes. It happens to a lot of people who travel internationally. There is NOTHING wrong with the US (now that health care was passed). :rolleyes:

Wasn't much wrong before other than healthcare hadn't been passed and conservatives have been enjoying the fruits of the constitution they despise. :doh:

ROTFL - the flip side is of course that horrible, unhealthy industrial food is probably the reason we've not already had major food shortages, but for me personally, I choose to eat better,

Yeah, Dennys. Forgot about that. Used to be one over the road from where I was wroking and we went in every day for the $6 surf-n-turf lunch. Only Sizzler was better but I think they're gone now.

I once stayed in a hotel by a Denny's. I ate three meals there, and all I could think of, was that I would die if I could not eat actual fresh fruit. That's not really like me. I've never eaten there again.

*grin* well that could be. If you grow your own food or buy organic, then you may well be used to good food and just be strongly built. I can buy US sodas here now, and I find that just one soda is enough to set me off, if it has HFCS instead of sugar. That is, it makes me feel unwell.

That's a shame, the jambalaya I had was plenty big enough and the cheesecake slice was unlike a slcie I've ever seen before (it was some kind of chocolately/brownie/cookie variant I think). This was at Mall@Millenia, FL. Speaking of jambalaya I had a nice one (though not as nice as CF) yesterday in Giraffe at MK Centre. Small portions there actually, but very scrummy. We were "forced" to fill the hole with a rocky road sundae :cool:

I only drink carbonated if I'm really thirsty and there is nothing else available: it really is crap. Oh yes, strongly built: as Rambo's boss said: 'he can eat things that would make a billy goat puke'. Well, nearly! :)
