I'm in Love

with San Francisco! My first foray into the United States and this place looks great. :) Apart from my actual work, I've earmarked plenty of time for sight-seeing. Any suggestions on places to see? And the streets are so organized here that I got lost

Fisherman's Wharf and Japanese Tea Garden are my favorite SF places.

San Francisco is my favorite city in the US. I grew up in New York City and hate cities but San Francisco is the only city I would consider living in, except possibly Charlotte, North Carolina.

Go to Ozumo around the wharf and order the gindara. Most delicious thing I've ever tasted. The wharf is also a good place to try other seafood, such as cioppino. Of course, there is the Golden Gate Bridge (there is a lookout to get a good view of it). I also hear (from a friend, of course) that an adult video was made on the GGB behind one of the pillars that hold up the bridge. It was a funny scene (my friend tells me) because they had to keep a lookout for pedestrians and cyclists that wandered by. The nearby Stinson Beach is quite a site to see. And if you go there, Muir Woods (adjacent to the beach) is an absolutely beautiful place to hike. On your way to the beach/woods, you might stop by Stefano's Pizza in Mill Valley... they are fully powered with solar power and the pizza is delish. There are many other things to see, but those are some great things to hit up for a first time visitor.

The penninsula rocks. I used to live in Mountain View; before that, in Cupertino. (And before that Santa Clara, San Jose...) Check out Big Basin (or, alternatively, the Armstrong grove in Sonoma); hit a winery first and hang in the big trees catching a buzz. Hard to beat. :-D

An up and coming Southern City. Kind of like Alanta, GA 40 years ago. Unfortunately, as it grows it becomes less desirable.
