A colleague of mine asked this a few months back and I had to leave the room from laughing too hard. I then came in early the next morning and covered her monitor with aluminum foil.

It hurt my sense of pride in my species. "Scanning a mirror doesn't work" Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. And think: they are allowed to vote, drive, and breed... X|

And the sad part is I do think fluoridated water is bad for you. But this lady just makes those of us that do look pretty darn bad.

A lady sees a rainbow in her sprinkler, and she blames it on the government putting chemicals in the water. So, that's her proof... a rainbow.

I thought it was entirely possible, but we need Unicorn tears to begin with?

No, no, no - you're thinking of pixie dust. Unicorn tears are for if you want to see the people inside your monitor painting all the pretty pictures.

I wonder if that would be theoretically possible with a transflective LCD since they have a no-backlight mode that uses reflected ambient light to illuminate the LCD.

Not to worry, the question came from Canada and it's 4 years old - I'm sure the RAC project that prompted the question is done by now

Indeed, we need to pull more money out of our education system and put it into water purification plants.

Pollution is serious. The chemical compound Dihydrogen Monoxide is in our plants, food, used in factories, etc. It's everywhere...even in the oceans.
