I would suggest same punishment as in movie Hard Candy - castration.

Castration doesn't do it - the capability to do it is still there, the urge is slightly diminished, but they are still capable. Even taking the rest of it does not stop the will, only the capability. I think there is only one way to stop the will.

Few might get ashamed of showing it off. Having said that, painful execution seems the best solution. Quentin Tarantino might come up with a nice way to do that.

Problem: at least for "clinic" pedophiles, this usually doesn't kill the desire. They just find other ways - none better for the victims. Next suggestion?

Because the law is the same for everyone. In Catholic Church Law (Canonic Law), these facts can be prosecuted until 10 years after the age of majority of the victim, by the Congregation of the Faith (formerly the Inquisition :-) ). In Belgian Civil Law, the same statute of limitations applies. (There have been calls to extend this delay to 30 years, but since our government has stumbled -again-, don' expect to hear from this in the near future). Furthermore, the victim has not lodged a complaint with the authorities (normal, because his lawyers also know about the statute of limitations. However, a complaint is not needed for these facts, and the prosecutor can start a procedure on his own. Since paedophiles rarely stop their practices when undiscovered, the courts have opened an inquiry into Mgr Van Gheluwe, in order to discover possible facts which would not be covered by this statute.

I think chemical castration should be applied. Assorted chemicals ingested, any chemical will do, in huge volume, stop when thoroughly poisonend or it falls off either will do!

As Michel Godfroid said the crime's happened more than 10 years ago which means he can't be prosecuted for it anymore (sucks but that's how it is). And I don't expect it to be changed since the government is to busy acting like little children and once again resigned. However, since it's been publicly know now there are a lot more people coming forward (I believe last I heard was up to 50 new victims coming forward). I really really really hope at least one of them wasn't 10 years ago so the bastard can be prosecuted and throw in jail for the rest of his life. Of course all these priests have to do is go to the vatican and stay their and nothing can touch them since the vatican isn't part of the EU and is a sovereign country on it's own, no laws of us apply there.
