Notice how they told their viewers to invest in Merril Lynch, Bear Sterns, and Goldman Sachs. This just goes to show that you can't trust the mainstream media at all.[^]

You really are stupid, aren't you ? What does trust have to do with it ? What they said seemed like a safe bet at the time. Wrong and evil are two different things.

If you're taking investment advice from the mainstream media you have bigger issues. Try someone who actually knows what they're talking about. And if you're at work at 7am on a Saturday, you also have some issues to deal with /whine

Was Shciff one of the people pointing out the obvious, that the housing bubble was going to burst? Or was he one of the dozens of doomcriers who said we'd be eating our dead about now? Given your typical taste I'm guessing the later. But hell, bubbles burst, they always do, they always will, and there's always some fool who doesn't seem to get that.

It depends on you what you take from anything. I listen a lot of hip hop and rap and it hasn't had any of the affects that you are stating.

It was actually done, forget the artist but he called it the 'Piss Christ', and it wasn't simply peeing on it, I believe he submerged it entirely in urine. Forget if it was his own or not. That said, it was more antagonism than anything else, certainly got the guy his five minutes of fame, if only in the eyes of people who were freaking out over it. Of course none of this explains how in the blazes he came up with it mid stream like that.

Yep, and it took about five minutes to nail down what the problem was, and there isn't a damn thing I can do about it. If I can load 1 entry in 5 seconds(web app, entry consists of a lot of parts), I'm not gonna be able to load 64 entries all that quickly, I'm actually surprised it only takes 30 seconds. I have plenty of details to grumble about, but this probably isn't the place. Suffice to say, screw data vendors who base key information off lousy text matching. Oh, and CSS, this is what it sounds like to be a young programmer, they expect a lot out of you.

It is not so much predicting the housing bubble would burst as predicting what exactly would happen when it did. Only about 15 economists accurately predicted its impact on the financial institutions around the world. I was not aware of an 'eating our dead' scenario. I shall assume that you are indulging in hyperbole. :)

In those clips Peter Schiff was stating clearly what he believed was going to happen, but his was a minority position. The others were merely following the economic group think of the day. Just because they were wrong does not make them liars.

No. They laughed at his predictions. It is only with hindsight that we know them to have been accurate. (You do know that he made some inaccurate predictions too, I hope?)

Hindsight. At the time, financial sector stocks were generally believed to be undervalued. Again, let the buyer beware. If you invest on the basis of a talking head, you shouldn't be allowed to handle money.

The reporters themselves just say what they are told to say, and perhaps might even believe what they are saying, but their only purpose is to lead the public in the wrong direction, to lead the sheep to their slaughter.

And that, o little black sheeple, is why you should be more discriminatory in the sites you frequent.

Notice how they told their viewers to invest in Merril Lynch, Bear Sterns, and Goldman Sachs. This just goes to show that you can't trust the mainstream media at all.[^]

And your point is? Seeing it this way, the media needs to be controlled or regulated, again contradicting yourself... weren't they excersising their right to free speech?, something you are afraid to loose if the government gets too involved?

I want to die like my grandfather- asleep, not like the passengers in his car, screaming!

They can tell everyone to burn their money if they want, but they certainly aren't trustworthy.

As I have often said, the core issue is that you're too insecure to deal with the chaotic nature of life. You assume that someone MUST be in control, and because life is, by nature, chaotic, you can only assume the people in power are evil.

It is all the mainstream media. There was controlled opposition to Bush when was in power, and there is controlled opposition to Obama. Controlled opposition means that it isn't real opposition, its designed to keep you in the herd and tow the party line, which is the same regardless if there is a so called right-winger or left-winger in power, they both take us in the same direction. One however acts like a Texan and goes hunting for vacation, the other acts like a lawyer who plays golf during his free time. Notice how even FOX often demonizes the tea party or does something to make them look unappealing.
