Yes you do. You've merely allowed yourselves to be lulled into believing that you don't.

Hey man! Have you *actually* shot anyone with a gun? You were in the navy, yada, yada. But after that? Or is it like collecting ammo and guns is your hobby?

Yes, and it was while I was in the Navy, and no, it wasn't an "enemy combatant".

I don't "collect" guns or ammo in the sense of being a collector. I purchase guns for specific uses and practice with them regularly. There's no point in owning a gun unless you know how and when to use it. I have enough ammo for each gun I own, and unless I buy a subsequent weapon of the same caliber, I won't be needing any more ammo on hand than I already have. "Collectors" gather weapons of significant jistorical significance, and hide them away thinking they'll become valuable. They generally do not fire these weapons, or even chamber a round in them. For example, my dad has a .30-30 Winchester manufactured in 1956 that has never been fired or even had a round chambered in it. I keep pestering him to give me the rifle but I think he won't because he knows I'll go out and "ruin it's value" by taking it to the range and putting a few hundred rounds through it. My hobby is programming. My hobbies over the years have included collecting diecast cars, building wooden ship models, building plastic model cars, and full-sized Ford performance vehicles of the 60's.

Tesco are stocking steak and kidney puddings again! Seriously, when the slump happened I noticed the diversity in supermarkets dropped drastically and now it is recovering a bit. Any other subtle indicators that you can think of?

I still have a job. :-D Seriously, though, home sales are starting to pick up a little, my minor stock holdings are up a small bit, and retail stores have actual cars parked in their lots these days. Little else has changed, but it has to start somewhere...

In fact, the supply of cheap Russian 7.62x39 ammo seems to have dried up completely! I hate paying $15 /20 rds when not long ago I was paying $300 /1000 rds. Worse, some of the commercial ammo doesn't reliably operate the action on the AK-47; it takes the higher kick of military stuff.

I was kinda trying to find out those "use cases". Like shooting furry animals? Or is that the practice, and you're actually expecting the "big day" to come sometime? I understand it's a defense, but is there anything other than that which interests you into this?

Programming is fascination for me. My hobbies include collecting fragrances of different types (by fragrances, I also mean scented candles, incense sticks, etc., apart from EDT sprays).

Self-defense mostly, but I also own three target rifles. I had to eradicate some squirrels that were slowly consuming the deck in our back yard, but I used a pellet gun for that.

Ah yes I see, the fastest region has an average speed of 2.2Mbit/s and the fastest ISP gives has 20Mbit/s.. So how much do you pay for this?
I'm evaluating it for a week now; the plans range from 50 to 100 USD per month based on the data transfer limit.

You can smith the weapon so that it can be made to reliably fire the lower-pressure ammo, though.
