Palm + HP: Good news for WebOS
-
So the big drive behind this appears to be HP's desire to release a WebOS-based tablet. That makes a lot of sense - obviously, Apple's iPad has given the whole "tablet" concept some new legs, and (much as it saddens me to say it) pen input and desktop-style apps (Windows) ain't part of that. Meanwhile, WebOS is awesome*, but Palm has been resource-starved of late and their hardware line reflects this. If HP keeps their own programmers away from it, and backs some better devices, this could actually be kinda cool... *by which I mean "easily hackable". In the good sense of the word.

I agree concept behind WebOS is cool. But unfortunately, Palm Pre did not do well at all.

Actually, they are putting those guys, who are responsible for the software packages which comes with every new HP PC, behind it. I think some guys who develop the Office Jet driver software are also joining that team.
