On screen books

Selecting the entire line while reading should work.
Yes but I am also lazy and want a program to do the highlighting. :)

If you're reading in HTML format could you add a bit of CSS to shade alternate lines like old fashioned 13" fanfold paper?
3x12=36 2x12=24 1x12=12 0x12=18

I have a problem that when reading on screen my eye/brain coordination is not good. I will start on one line and end on another. Thus a lot of rereading. Is there a program that will scroll down the page with a highlight bar? And yes I some times use my finger to follow a line. :-O
We are developers. Why don't you quickly write one prototype and publish it as an article. That will help us also. :-)

Where'd you find a picture of me online? Seriously though, I'm in my late 20's. When I was a kid my dad brought home odds and ends from the end of the fanfold boxes as scratch paper to scribble on. ;P

Okay that explains it. I have wasted more trees because of program loops and large boxes of fan-fold. I too took home the odd end or blanks that were leading/trailing. In those days I handed my punch cards to an operator and hoped for the best. If the operator was not paying attention to the printer it could spit out large amounts of paper in a short time.

Not into programming that much any more. (DBA) By the way I could have used the quote by Heinlein the other day as there was a discussion about inventing a new car that did not gas.

Simple. She will end up in hospital with burns on some places.

But then that program should also be able to recognize which line are you currently reading. So effectively you need a Mind reader plus line highlighter.
Well there's the solution! Take your yellow highlighter and draw across the line on your screen. :-D Or maybe get one of those overhead acetate sheets for inkjet, print a yellow bar and then stick it to your screen. Myself, I have two monitors. One portrait and one landscape. The portrait one is great for reading documents (and code).

I had the same problem when I first switched to a wide screen monitor, try reformatting your window so it's much narrower and you might find the problem goes away entirely.
