Are Job Agencies stupid? If I Implicitily specify a location of say "South Coast" I generally would not be interested in a Job At the opposite end of the country?! Especially when I told them in no uncertain terms I was interested in the South Coast only.... So why do they have to harrass me 10 times a day telling me how a job on the opposite end of the country would be perfect for me! I have came to the conclusion they can be represented in a good old fashioned code... (Sorry for those its good old Amstrad Locomotive Basic ;-) ) 10 PRINT "Enter Location of Job" 20 INPUT S$ 30 LET S$ = "" 40 LET JOBLOCATION = RND * TotalJobsNotInAreaEntered 50 PRINT "Your Ideal Job is At " + JOBLOCATION 60 GOTO 40 GGGRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! as Mr T would say "GET SOME NUTS!!!!!"

Possibly because they lack: a) an atlas b) a basic understanding of the geography of this country c) a decent spatial aggregation system.

Think of it like spam... They could send out 100,000 of those E-mails (Completely automated, of course), offering a job on the opposite site of the planet from your chosen area. Now, if just ten recipients actually consider moving for that job, and one of them actually gets hired, then that mass-mailing was a success. I think it's time for spam filters to target these companies.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

The even bigger irony is at my current company I get "spammed" from one job agency that I am actually registered with as a "hunter" with potential people to hire so I guess for them it goes both ways..
