Picture Upload and Download

In sharepoint if i create some webpart for upload some files into sql server 2005 after that am display the table in a grid view through another webpart so my questions is shall we download the files directly from the grid view if no means tell me someother way to retrive the pictures which was uploaded by me and what are the files are avail in tables.........
