You know, your post's title made my brain explode. You'd better measure your words before writing. Edit: I don't know why you've been downvoted, so I gave you a 5 to compensate.

Game-theory-speak for prejudice is "Default Reasoning". I swear I think creationists are fools, but if one dismisses all of the ID stuff for that reason, as indeed happened in the Nova "Intelligent design on Trial", that's a straw-man-tragedy.

Yep. It's Saturday, so it's a cleanup day anyway. BTW, this thread is getting nowhere...

Let me put this simply - I can't work out what you're going on about (I wonder if anyone else can) and frankly I don't care.

Game-theory-speak for prejudice is "Default Reasoning". I have to admit that maybe 30% of the posts on uncommondescent *ARE* creationist, and I don't bother to read them. But maybe one about 1 in 10 is just mind-boggling.
Assuming that you're inclined to let this post sit there I promise not to push-my-luck, I won't do this again unless something of a similarly high standard comes along.

Same here. I thought his first was an interesting read, well, for some at least, but now I'm leaning towards thinking he's either crazy or a troll.

Works for me. It was back on 10-jan-2010 that my post on "Shapiro's Third Way" was deleted by Trollslayer, with the comment "Guess which part of Intelligent Design excludes this idiot". I had imagined that you would have some filter so that you could easily determine how many posts by "this idiot" you have previously been forced to delete - that's a feature I would want as a Trollslayer, and I totally concede that Trollslayer is a necessary thing, just that I don't think of myself as a Troll, surely there ARE Trolls who think of themselves as Trolls.

Having browsed a couple of your messages, I defer to you, I'm impressed by your record. If indeed in your opinion this is too far out of place, say so one more time and I will delete the post myself. Edit: OK Lancaster was enough - I had been hoping for some positive feedback. I did push the delete button, and pushing it again results in "This message is unavailable", although it still clutters the index. For the record, I don't think of myself as a troll, I can't imagine how any programmer could fail to be fascinated by such things, but clearly MY imagination needs stretching :) .

"South Africa" calls up two references for me.
Though I've never been there, I immediately think of the flamethrower-under-the-door-sills attachment to deal with carjacking, what a great idea. Secondly, "The Emotional Revolution" by Norman E. Rosenthal kicks off with an incident in which the author successfully defended against a mugging in South Africa, since the attacker was armed "merely" with a screwdriver(the incident was many years ago). Rosenthal credits his emotional system with giving him the strength to drive home after being stabbed with the screwdriver. This book is I worth the $3.86 they want for a used copy on Amazon, although I have no idea how much your shipping would be. Anyway it's an honor to get a comment from someone with such a high reputation, thanks.

No, thank you. Most people here just accept comments as that, and not worthy of gratitude, but some decorum is nice once in a while. BTW, I used to work in Johannesburg CBD, an area shunned by many whites, but in two years of walking the city flat every lunch time, I was only mugged once, without violence.
