So, I am in Brisbane, flat out repairing touch screens. I was driving home last night, and the cars in front of me stopped suddenly. I braked in time, the woman behind me did not. The bloke behind her in a ute did not, either, so she hit me again. She was a real mess, she was really shaken up and took a lot of calming down. It's a rental car, with insurance, so apart from having to tell the company, it was no big deal for me, whiplash notwithstanding. I am glad I have my Brisbane drama out of the way, now I can focus on getting work done.

The only car accident I was ever in was in Australia! Melbourne though. A young female driver went into the back of us. She was really shaken up, her car was a mess. My aunties car, just popped the light back in and we were away 30 minutes later!

Yeah, it's strange how that can happen.

I have lived in Brisbane for 5 years or so, and it was a real shock driving here compared to the UK. I don't thing most Brisbane drivers know where the indicator is or what the white lines of the road mean. I love being back in Aus, but not being on the road with Qld drivers. (And to think I thought the Vic's were the worst before I moved here).

I'm a Brisbane girl and except for a few years in London have only ever lived here. The driving is definitely getting worse! I don't know what it is at the moment but there seems to be some competition on how many people can go through red lights. It is astonishing the number of people that go through - I'm not talking about the "it goes Orange as I enter the intersection and red before I'm out" kind of thing which is not good but happens every now and then. I'm talking about dark red! I obviously didn't get the memo. I didn't get the one about not using indicators either though ... I wonder if all cities go through this as they get bigger? The people driving in Brisbane seem to have an issue with entitlement. Everyone thinks they're entitled to the whole road and everyone else will accommodate them. And everyone is sooo angry! What is with that?

I've always thought the opposite. Hobart drivers are terribly rude, and I assume it's because traffic is not so bad. I find Melb and Sydney drivers more prone to letting you in, etc, b/c I guess they know how bad the traffic is, and figure we're all in it together.
