I did. Proof enough of the sagacity of your posting I think.

I had to look up sagacity. Admittedly my impression of French cars is clouded by their cost at home in Auustralia, they're probably half the price in Europe and the UK. A friend of mine bought a little Citroen in Australia about 5 years ago. Thought she was so cool in her little Euro-styled run around. About 3 years later she got a quote for the first major service. The parts are so amazingly expensive in Oz that she was better off selling the car, paying out the finance (yes it lost that much value in 5 years) and buying a Toyota.

That is racist slander! The French do not run away from the enemy! The Italians run way, the French just surrender. Cheese eating surrender monkeys...

My impression is based on the fact that I bought a Megane which had no end of problems. I gave up on it in the end.

Another arguement against them is that they don't seem to be able to cope with the Australian climate. An acquaintance of mine bought a second hand (5 years old) Peugeot a few years ago and by the time she'd had it for three years there were bits falling off it. I don't think the problem was build quality since it seemed fine when she bought it, I think it just couldn't cope with being parked out in the Aussie summer sun every day.

The way it's bent forward, it looks like they crashed the prototype into a brick wall, then decided to just leave it as-is.

Well if heat/humidity isn't the problem, maybe the problem is simply that they're sh*t cars? :)

The Model T had a 2.9L engine that developed 20HP, with a top speed of 45 mph. Think what a 2.9L engine can do now, especially with turbo/super chargers. You have to start somewhere....

I don't see the point in battery powered cars. The car may not emit any nastyness, but the electricity that powers isn't summoned by magic either.

Large power plants are much more efficient at turning fuel into useful energy than a little car engine, and produce much less waste (On a percentage basis). Plus, the electricity that powers an electric car doesn't necessarily come from fossil fuels. It could be wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, etc.

I don't see the point in battery powered cars. The car may not emit any nastyness, but the electricity that powers isn't summoned by magic either.

My current favourite quote is: Punch them in the face, see what happens!

                                          an autonomy of 120 km

Is that BS marketing speech for "range"?
