            Safari 5 on OS X - 208 + 8 bonus points Chrome 5 on OS X - 197 + 7 bonus points Firefox 3.5.7 on OS X (when it eventually loaded) - 126 + 4 bonus points I'll stick with my default browsers - Safari on OS X, Chrome on Windows...

Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p CodeProject MVP for 2010 - who'd'a thunk it!

What makes me laugh is that it is automatically assumed that all the "features" of HTML5 are not only *required*, but *desired*. Are they bollocks. Too much of the HTML5 spec looks like playground toys for hackers and malware producers -- giving them access, through a web page, to things that I don't believe that a web page should ever have access to. It will be far too easy for advertisers, spammers, and hackers to abuse.

But you can view the page, and every other web page, with it. What does that tell you about the can't-live-without-it-ness of HTML5? Wait until people start noticing that four out of five open web pages have each taken control of their webcam, microphone, etc, "just in case". HTML5 would have allowed Geocities to bring the internet to its knees.

Have the NSC's passed the same points as Netscape? If they then they have 31 points + incompatibility. If they don't match some of the NS passed points then they have less than NS + incompatibility. So IE has 27 points and NS has 31 points. Who works out what the tests should be. Here is my list with just three tests. Can edit source code (Eg. Notepad); IE 1-7 yes, IE 8 no, Netscape no. Supports VB Script code; IE 1-3 no, IE 5-8 yes, Netscape no. Supports DIV's; IE 1-8 yes, Netscape 1-4 no, Netscape 5-SeaMonkey2 yes. There are many features that IE don't support, but there are also many features that the Netscape family don't support. OK. I picked features that Netscape don't support. Just like this test.
