wierd keyboard issue... [modified]

ok, so last night (actually right now but I won't read the replies to this until morning) I did the dreaded "spilled soda on my keyboard"....x x After taking it apart and cleaning everything very carefully and putting it back together, I am having a couple strange issues with a few keys...x x 0) Enter key (but not the enter key on the keypad) is inserting an x everytime I hit it before hitting enter. 1) Likewise, the x key is adding an enter after hitting x.x 2) I can't type an uppercase x without hitting the caps lock (shift+x doesn't work)x /3) the three key inserts a forward slash when I hit it /3..x 4) the forward slash key adds a /3 after it /3.x 5) the 6/ key adds the forward slash after it...x 6/) the tab key adds what appears to be an F1 keystroke since everytime I hit it, the windows help (or app help) opens...x 7) F5 appears to also do F1...I can't refresh a page by hitting F5 anymorex x x so what do you guys think...is the keyboard hosed (apparently no question mark functionality either) or did I activate some sort of wierd keyset while randomly mashing keys trying to cleanup the spill before I resigned to having to take the keyboard apart...x edit- after a night of rest, the kb works like a champ once again.....36x

You obviously never heard my joke about the 3 most dangerous things in the universe.... admitedly I am one of them. :) 1) an Engineer with a software patch :omg: 2) a programmer with a screwdriver :-\ 3) a user with an "idea!" :wtf:

Assuming it is a standard keyboard and not one of those ergonomic monsters, why did you bother, they are what $20 for a new one. And you deserve to lose the $20 for being such a klutz. Go buy a new one or use an old one. I know I have 3 or 4 floating around the store room somewhere.

All that lovely plastic etc going to landfill when half an hour tops with a screwdriver and some Isopropyl alcohol could get another n years use... I'm not a tree hugger but I don't needlesly create waste either.

well, it appears that this programmer knows how to use a screwdriver slightly better than the average programmer... after a night of rest, the KB works fine...
it is the small successes of each combined by native ego from self believed social standing that leads to further and more complex attempts. Pretty soon programmers are adjusting the guidance systems of ICBMs, users are suggesting contracts turn over all missile defenses to AI computers, and engineers are applying quick software patches to the FAA central tracking computers.... ;P ;P

FTFY :-D (Any programmer I've ever talked to has taken apart or built a computer at some point, which in my experience always involves a screwdriver)
