    It's Wikipedia's "Picture of the day" and it's description text is: "Print showing 1896 artist's conception of the state capitol building in Helena, Montana with busy street scene of carriages and coaches, and large groups of people standing on steps and at entrances to the building." Here it is[^], it's resolution is a huge 9,079 × 5,942 pixels!

        Yes it has! The number of pixels is 53947418 and apparently the population of Montana is 974989, so that means that the amount of pixels is about 55.3 times that of the population :-O

            6x9 would be closer and would actually be more the shape of a portrait. The extra pixels can be used for some kind of signature or dedication.

            My current favourite quote is: Punch them in the face, see what happens!

                I'd imagine these two are the biggest ;) http://maps.google.co.uk[^] www.bing.com/maps[^] At the deepest zoom level (23) on bing maps/virtual earth (admittidly not everywhere is to that level) the image is 2147483648 x 2147483648 pixels which is 4611686020000000000 pixels ;) Bing Maps Tile System[^]
