Well, (Depending on your own personal view of religion) I think God put certain people on earth to play sports and some people, well, some people NOT to play sports. The last few days have truly and completely sucked. Wednesday of last week I blew my knee out playing raquetball!?!?!?! Is this a sign of getting older? Sheesh, I'm only 28. Anyway, nothing broken but I've been forced to remain with my leg in a brace elevated and iced for the last 5 days so they can determine the amount of ligament/tendon damage. Exactly 1.5 years ago I took out my left ankle and had to miss a season of skiing. Now, I'll most likely have to miss this coming season. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I did some of the best skiing of my life this past winter and now I'm on the bench again! Oh well... I just wanted to vent. Matt Philmon:(( :(( :((

Hey, I went on a climbing holiday to the Swiss Alps many years ago and had a terrible fall and knackered my knee. I was so bad I could wobble the kneecap around like an ice-cream on a hotplate. It was horrible. Where did this happen? Halfway up the north face of the Eiger? No - a piggy-back race in Geneva aiport at 3am! I crashed into a bin with my friend on my back! However, I still managed to climb the Matterhorn a week later!! Stravaiger Le gach deagh dhurachd

Man that's nothing. Last week I got an infection in my prostate and I'm only 27. God knows how a prostate gets infected! And let me tell you I'd rather have my leg in a brace then have to take a leak every 5 seconds with this damn prostate!

The human knee proves that evolution is suboptimal :-D I've dislocated my right knee three times, the left "only" twice. I went to a sports medicine doc a couple weeks back and this was his response: "This is one of those times you wish you were in a teaching hospital so you could show your students what arthritis feels like." I guess that adage that everything starts to fall apart when you turn 30 is true. I just turned this year. Good luck with rehab ;)

Matt, You have my deepest sympathy :rose: especially with the loss of a season's skiing. While you have nothing to do, check out www.kns.ch/seehof/laax_pics.htm and I will not tell you about the 220kms of piste in my back garden. Next time get a job in a ski resort  - there's no better life to be had ;P Old Simon

I have been playing Australian Rules football for 6 years without a problem and I ended up hurting my knee playing Hackey Sack (not exactly a contact sport)....that is a tough one to explain to my team mates.... Once you reach 30 things like to give out on you a little bit easier than they used to! :|
