Just got fired this morning. It's a good thing though, that job was destroying me and my marriage so I'm just relieved that I'm finally free. Now I have the time to look for an IT job which is what I was looking when I came to UK. Don't ask why I didn't leave sooner, it's too complicated... Thank you for "listening", without knowing you've been a great help distracting my mind sometimes. :)

The trick to taking it well is a steak dinner. Most people choose alcohol but that is a depressant. Foods with high protein and high fat just make you feel good. With regard to your new search, good luck. The jobs are out there.

Getting fired from a job you don't want is a good experience I suppose. Steak dinner is not a bad idea

Hmm, not sure about that. I'm sure I read about some FA fella saying we should stick with him because it wasn't his fault, see here[^] I think he should go. Anyone who takes off Defoe and brings on Heskey when we need to score goals just needs his head looking at. :)

http://www.codeproject.com/Lounge.aspx?msg=3493226#xx3493226xx He signed a contract worth 12 mill over 2 years. The FA will have to buy him out if they want him to go and he refuses to resign. I'd love a gig like that, quite a pension the FA are going to pay him

Don't worry: getting fired is not really a bad thing; it's a bit like divorce without the alimony and emotional baggage. Good luck finding something more suitable.

I don't recall whether it was Robert Heilbroner or Peter Drucker who said that every young person should be fired once, early in his career, but he was right on the money. Being fired teaches two things. First, you really can get another job - what you know has value, and when you land a new position (usually a far better one, in my experience) you'll know it without a doubt. And second, knowing the first lesson, you also learn that you don't have to put up with being mistreated by any boss or company, since you know you can go elsewhere. The sooner after you embark on your career that you experience this, the better. Congratulations on the new opportunity! :-D

I kind of learned that during this job. It has actually made me so much greater in so many ways though...and the fact that I started to not admit people to mistreat and abuse me on a daily basis was the main reason I got fired but to see the eyes of those kind of people when you tell them in the face what they don't want to hear, what they don't expect to hear from you or anyone just lifts your ego... f**k them, I'm so much better than what they think...I wasn't meant for that... Thanks for your words. :)
