Since we are doing bad jokes here's the Sorry A&& Southern Joke Of The Day A very gentle Texas lady was driving across the Pecos High Bridge in Texas one day. As she neared the middle of the bridge, she noticed a young man fixin' to (means 'getting ready to' in Texas ) jump. She stopped her car, rolled down the window and said, "Please don't jump, think of your dear mother and father." He replied, "Mom and Dad are both dead; I'm going to jump." She said, "Well, think of your wife and children." He replied, "I'm not married and I don't have any kids." She said, "Well, Remember the Alamo ." He replied, ''What's the Alamo ?'' She replied, ''Well, bless your heart, just go ahead and jump, you dumb a&& Yankee. You were warned Mike

A shrine in Texas that they hold sacred as part of their heritage.

It's where some Yankee invaders stormed into Mexican Texas, bunkered down in a fortification barely worthy of the word, and proceeded to be wiped out by the Mexican Army. For some reason it's a point of pride for the invaders' ancestors.

I was there a few weeks ago... and you're right it. It's the story of country that invited in a much needed workforce. Then got scared when those new comers got too numerous, and started acting like the owned the place. In a much needed police action, the rebels against the rightful government were wiped out. Or is that Arizona in a few months time...? Needless to say, this is meant tongue in cheek. I don't condone slaughtering anyone, except maybe purveyors of terrible jokes. But I'd been following the hullabaloo in Arizona only a few days before my trip to San Antontio. Iain.

I am one of "those foreigners coming over here and stealing our jobs". Yay me!
