What phones run on Windows phone 7?

From the noise recently about the upcoming release, I was wondering just how many phones will use it. Lots of folks are using Android, doesn't matter how cool Windows is unless there are phones being sold with it.

Thy run Window Mobile 6.x. Windows Phone 7 is not backwards compatible with Windows Mobile 6.x, so these phones will not be able to run Windows Phone 7.

There are leaks about a Dell as well, but Microsoft has announced Toshiba, Asus and Sony Ericsson as partners as well, so we'll see a lot of devices. :)

All the C# coder needs to do is pay $100 for the licence, and they can sell a silverlite App in the app store, and as far as freelance game developers are concerned this phone is mandated to have a 3d capable graphics card... there are offerings from each of the major phone makers, and they are scheduled (read projected to be scheduled) to be out in time for Christmas Sales... Dev phones exist, and the API is good. MSFT has made it fairly straightforward to develop and publish apps, as well as having a much more open review process then other..(*cough* apple)platforms... and better (read more predictable) phone-os relationships (*cough* Android *cough*) and overall has opened the market up to a lot of people who like to use c#... as programmers all we need to do is make apps that are useful enough to encourage people to use that platform... after all you can't use your iphone to play an XBOX game... but with a new winphone that is possible.. (in theory)...
I'd blame it on the Brain farts.. But let's be honest, it really is more like a Methane factory between my ears some days then it is anything else...

Copywriting ServicesDoes it really matter how many phones use it? The IPhone is only one phone (and one carrier). All that matters is how good the phone is. I think windows 7 phone has much more potential than the IPhone. Look at the .Net developers and support they have. Hopefully Microsoft will make the correct choices to allow the phones a solid platform for apps. As long as you dont have to reboot your phone and hold it upside down at a 37 degree angle to get an app working Ill be happy

Take the iPhone, take Android, and throw a dart somewhere between them. Then add a MSft twist. That's Win Phone 7 in a nutshell. I personally love the look and concept, and developing, from what I've done. They've got it setup so they can update/improve the OS pretty easily. Multitasking, I don't call iOS multitasking. Considering the tombstoning process, that works for me until they develop their solution. I just hope they enable a developer mode, allowing us to escape the one-and-only marketplace business. We can only hope. Still doesn't curb my enthusiasm much, as I'll be able to sideload anyway! :-D
