    ...via webcast from Microsoft, while reading the Windows Phone 7 Application Certification Requirements. And I am shaking my head. If the things I hear and read are true, I might choose to never develop for Windows handheld devices again. Ever. Ever-ever. Say hello to the new Apple - Microsoft. For the few of you that know me even in the slightest, this will count as breaking news. This based on me being quite positive to Microsoft products in general - but here Einstein's theory about the only two infinite things in life is in the process of being half way proven. //L

          The Windows bit and the Phone bit.

            So they are still trying to shoehorn the Windows UI into a phone then? I never understood why they persisted in doing this when it's so obvious that it just doesn't work well.

              First the old news: No copy-paste, and no 3rd party app multitasking. Then, it turns out that they are going the Apple way about application control. They have rigid guidelines for UI design, application content, and one that REALLY boils my nudles: You cannot design a subscription based app! I.e., if your app has extended functionality that is based off of cloud based storage or sevices, you cannot charge a subscription for it! PissesMeOff.com. //L

                What about an app that just expires after a set amount of time. eg MyBogoApp2010, MyBogoApp2011, ....

                3x12=36 2x12=24 1x12=12 0x12=18

                  As far as I can tell, that would not fly given the application certification guidelines. //L
