So, I decide to sell a lot of my music DVDs, because I have far too many. To sell a DVD for $10 costs me 50 cents to list, and another 50 cents or so if it sells. So, they take 10%. And, with piracy what it is, I am hardly selling any, people just steal stuff that's hard to find, I guess. So, I have to relist, and they used to charge you nothing to relist, now it's another 50 cents.

Would you be comfortable with a 10% seller's fee if you were able to sell almost all your DVDs on EBay (i.e. if piracy was virtually non-existent)? /ravi

I think it would still seem a little high to me, but yeah, you're right, part of why I am upset, is not their fault. I do think it would not be unreasonable for them to still allow you to relist for free, like they used to ( which benefits them still if I sell ).

Piracy upsets you because it's costing you money? That's easy to fix - engage in piracy yourself to make up the loss. But you would never do that. You are a white knight.

Maybe CodeProject should charge 50 cents for a repost?

Yeah, obviously if I was inclined to steal, I'd not have these DVDs to sell.

And if you do sell one, it will go horribly wrong in some unforeseeable way.

I know I'm coming late to this discussion, but locally we have a store that buys and sells used CDs and DVDs, no ebay required. Perhaps you have something like that near you? Or, next time you're in Sacramento, it's Dimple records on Folsom Blvd.

My other signature is witty and insightful.
