Here[^] is an interesting demonstration of creativity. Not the only one, I know, but it also provides an example of a cross-domain application of ideas. It is always a 'winner' to make an idea appear obvious. :)

I wish I was still teaching my ethics course, this one is really open for debate.

Vary, measure, pick. News since 1839.

And I really like the way you succinctly put it: vary, measure, pick. Development is a process whereby insignificant and imperceptible quantitative changes lead to fundamental, qualitative changes. Qualitative changes occur not gradually, but rapidly and abruptly, as leaps from one state to another. A simple example from the physical world is the heating of water: a one degree increase in temperature is a quantitative change, but between 99 and 100 degrees there is a qualitative change - water to steam. "Merely quantitative differences, beyond a certain point, pass into qualitative changes." --Karl Marx, Capital, Vol. 1. [^]

Credits go to Mr. Darwin ;) Just don't forget that patiently walking from 20° to 99° is a important as the last step. We celebrate Aldrin, but it should be only as a pinnacle of a concerted effort of hundreds, thousands even. (The remaining scraps of a physicist have to add that the last degree requires much more energy than the previous ones)

So that's why he fabricated that whole evolution thing... so he could marry his cousin under the claim that they both had excellent genes and that he was doing it only to further the success of human kind.

I have no idea where that came from. I never said such a thing, and personally I don't know whether it is or isn't. For starters you don't define "enticement" or "people". This could mean anything from bribes to officials, to free samples of a product distributed in a magazine.

Crossing the road poses ethical dilemmas if you look hard enough. Discuss: Is it ethical to use a homeless person to demonstrate a marketing theory? Furthermore is is ethical to make the subject of such a study known to the wider public? - Note the questions take a neutral position - There are lots of issues that are raised (both for and against both part) that can be discussed.

 No I didn't. It was around this time he started to publish the results of his journeys. The stigma around marrying a cousin has changed significantly through history, at some times it was not uncommon. Ironic that he laid the groundworks for justifying the ban.
