This is starting to get real annoying. I've received three of these emails since Friday evening, all to the same email address. 0) Yes, I order stuff off Amazon, but not using the email address these are sent to. They're not putting a lot of effort into their attempt to scam me... 1) The order number in the subject line doesn't match the one in the body of the email 2) Their math really sucks. The order total is for $71.99, but the (subtotal of items is only $3.99. Even better, the tax is almost twice the cost of the "items". That's not even possible in this country. Further, the grand total ($3.99 + $7.99) is $62.99. Finally, there's the mysterious "Price" of $56.99. All these numbers ending in .99 has no way in hell of adding up to the numbers they've put in the email. And last but not least... 3) The links in the email are obvious phonies too. (Links are indicated as <code> blocks. Even if someone fell for it and entered their Amazon login details into the phishing site, what good would it do them? Any saved Credit card numbers are never displayed in full. And you cannot ship to a new address using a saved CC number.

They don't want to get your Amazon card number details. They want an email/password combination that they can sell. With your Amazon log on, I have your email address, one of your passwords, and probably your full name and home address. That's valuable.

I started to receive these exact same e-mails since a few days. Really annoying, and the first time I was actually afraid since I put an article in my shopping basket for like 1600 dollars. (Did not order it!) When I opened the mail I was very happy with it being spam :P

ok, whatever about screwing up the tax, i think they've otherwise done a realistic job for an Amazon order. I find that the prices for books are never the same between one screen and the next when confirming the order (different taxes i think) and they never seem to add up right either.
