    Went out for swift ciggie and was surprised to see a couple of very bright meteors whizz across the sky. Further googling revealed the fact that the Capricornids are hitting us this evening. Might be worth a visit to the great outdoors for those of you interested in such things.

      It seems that they are in fact the Alpha Capricornids and they are due to peak at 2 mins to midnight tomorrow. The Capricornids arrive in October and peak around the 10th.
