Finally reaching the conclusion that I absolutely positively hate Outlook's RSS feeds feature with a passion, I want to seek the wisdom of the collective CP masses: Which standalone RSS reader should I go with instead?

That's also a possible view - then I know which ones not to look at... ;)

I've purchased, installed, and used Intravnews[^] for a client at a former employer of mine. You can look at RSSFeeder[^] and Awasu[^] by people from CodeProject. You can use Google Reader[^] with Outlook.

I used RSS Bandit for several years before finally switching to Google Reader.

I use Google Reader, but that's not a "standalone" reader. I used RSS Owl in the past -- it wasn't horrible (don't remember why I switched at this point).

Lately, I've used the Feedly extension for FF. It uses Google Reader in the background, but it does the trick for me. The Brief FF extension is also quite good IMO. -EM
