I'm on a look out for a web based (preferably self hosted) task management solution. Not looking for something special... the basic stuff.. multiple projects, each project has a manager that creates and assigns tasks with estimates, the rest of the users (hopefully :) ) finish them, and report the time spent. What are your experiences? What are you using? Are you satisfied with it? [edit] Forgot to mention, it's going to be hosted on a Linux server. [/edit]

Sorry, nothing I know of for *inx, but if you can work with Windows, we had good luck with BugTracker.NET[^]

At my last job, we used @Task. You don't want to know my opinion of it... I generally don't like having to track my tasks for management (I use my personal wiki to do my own task management).

Take a look to web2Project PHP based application, you should have no problem with your Linux server

I used dotProject[^] ( mostly because it was installable easily (one button push) on my linux web hosting ) It worked great

I agree about dotProject...the only thing I had to do is adjust the amount of memory allowed to run external functions (in the php.ini) so the Gantt charts would work. This is mentioned in one (or more) of the boards on the site.
