slow and crappy looking and not customizable ... oh and twice the price of 2008 at least and this took how long to inflict on the world?? :wtf: [edit] ...and just to add salt to the wound the "uninstall all" (as in "completely remove this from my computer") doesn't so now i have to spend god knows how long uninstalling all the bits of crap i didn't even ask to be installed to begin with!! what a bunch of complete muppets! [/edit]

Are you talking RTM? IMO 2010 runs faster than 2008. What parts are slow (and compared to what)? The beta/CTP/RC bits didn't uninstall cleanly, but that was the heads-up, too. I haven't tried to uninstall the final build & have been using it daily.

RTM ... and yes it is way slower and cannot be configured as i like ... it does not repsect the theme settings and uses some god awful blue effect uninstalling it left 25+ items behind that i have just spent a good 25 minutes uninstalling one after the other all in all very underwhelming :suss:

You need the Color Theme Editor Soma brags about here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/somasegar/archive/2010/07/02/vs-2010-productivity-improvements-part-iv.aspx[^] P.S.: A color theme editor is a productivity improvement? If so, are there any studies which color makes developers most productive? Is this a special RGB value internally used by MS and patented like they did with the hyperlink color on Bing?

Are you meaning something other than the color settings here?
l a u r e n wrote:

Which settings are you referring to? My customizations all seem to be reflected fine in the IDE/code editor. Anything I can try here to see if I can repro?

There's a lot more to VS2010 than color schemes and the uninstall procedure. I think you're missing out ;)

Agreed; my opinions of VS2010 have matched yours since Beta 1 lumbered over the parapet and belched loudly. It's a far cry from the lean, capable beast it showed promise of being back when MS were shipping VS2010 CTPs (and before they started frigging around with the code editor and Visual C++ project system). Like VS2005, VS2002 and VC5 before it, this one's a bit of a dog and best avoided.

You can stop flirting with her. For one thing, she's got a gun in that pic, and based on what I know of her she will use it if she feels like it. For another, her inclinations are elsewhere
