How many kilos you lose generally in one month of Ramdan fasting?

Usually, you gain. Feasting at night is not good for you. But if you eat properly you'll lose 1-3 in the month.

Ramadan is a month of fasting from sunup till sundown, where one abstains from food, bad deeds and bad thoughts. It is supposed to remind us of the hardships of others and therefore remind us of humility. Its also there to teach us patience, a lesson that is always good. Though quite a bit on this forum might find it strange, different or even downright hostile, I still wish everyone of you a Happy Ramadan and I hope that the lessons are not lost on anyone.

There I was planning to visit Jordan and take you out on a lunch party to the restaurant which served the best Mansaf. Mansaf, Mansaf, Mansaf, Mansaf! Happy Ramadan BTW.

Happy Ramadhan Mustafa. We have a fast of around 13 hours here in Pakistan and I don't think it is much of a problem for the majority. ;P

Well, they would fast with the timing of the nearest location that did have a tangible dawn and dusk. IIRC, when we were in Edmonton, Muslims in Yellowknife and Whitehorse would fast according to our local times. I could find out more if you're really that interested.

That might mean a 20hr+ fast without drinking! :omg: While I can admire the other aspects of ramadan, dehydrating for so long sound's downright unhealthy (in the "self-destructive" sense, not the "that is totally unhealthy! What if I'm allergic to germs?" unhealthy thing).

That shows that he's basically a boy when it comes to partying. It takes an experienced connoisseur to "manage" a multi-day feast, but it's certainly possible.

I reckon he could, especially if he made sure he was taking in enough fluids during the feasting.

I do not celebrate Ramadan except that it has 4 letters of my first name :) but I do not mind to have Happy Ramadan. The kind of fasting some Hindus usually do is twice a month during 11th day of lunar calendar. You are supposed to fast entire day (24 hrs) and preferably not even take water. I have done a few of those Ekadasi fastings and it feels good after teh fats is over. :) Another interesting thing about how Hinduism/Buddhism is different is that religious people usually avoid dinners (as it is considered that night time body does not have lot of digestive powers).
