Haemorrhaging the Recycle Bin
-
I probably should have cleaned out my server's recycle bin a little earlier. Everything ground to a halt (for over half an hour) while deleting the 50,000+, 120Gb of files. Tells me I need to write a PowerShell script to do the cleanup.
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

*shudders considering what the contents of a pr0n recycle bin would look like* (esp. after watching 8mm yesterday)
Agh! Reality! My Archnemesis![^]

It's a pr0n server isn't it?
You wish. Unfortunately it's just CDRs (Call Data Records) we have between 1300-1800 of them a day, passed through 4 stages, of which we only really need to keep one. I've just been too lazy cleaning them up, but running out of disk space at 12Gb a day tends to build up quickly. Although there could be some fone secks in there I suppose.

Just in case you don't know this. You can set a maximum size for the recycle bin or even delete content directly when it enters the recycle bin. Just go to the properties and you'll see :)

Did know both of those - it seems you missed the reference to 'lazy'. :) Thanks anyway.

Heum setting those properties once or manually emptying the recycle bin every now and then, I choose the properties so who is lazier now ? ;P
