Experience and knowledge will only get you so far. Then comes having the guts to give it a go. Define "off the ground"?

It's like any other big life decision (marriage, having kids, etc.) -- there's never going to be a perfect time. You prepare yourself as well as you can, just do it, and hope for the best. :)

i started mine when i decided i wanted to sell my software
I gave mine up when I found out I was a lousy salesman, debt collector, accountant, entrepreneur basically. Went back to doing what I enjoy - creating software solutions.
