Eeesh. When I was 16 I was a high school dropout, working in restaurants. Hitchhiked all over the country, lived in Denver for 6 months or so... eventually made my way back to Vermont, completed high school, went to college... and sure as hell wasn't making a million a year.

Trying to think what my wages were then (8 years ago), just worked in the local pub/restaurant. Was a nice enough place and got me the cash I needed 'til I finished uni. It was always somewhere in the region of £5 an hour. But yeah... jealous :/

There's just a little misconception here: He didn't work ten thousand times harder and more determined and more driven than the guy who made $100.

Unfortunately, I blew it all on drugs, gambling, and hookers. Just kidding of course. We all know rich teenagers wisely invest.

None! I was studying then. In India, we don't have this culture of working at early age.

I didn't get my first computer until high school, so I suppose there wasn't much hope for me to go down that path. By 16, let me see... I *might* have been making $5/week allowance at that point.

When I was 16 I didn't really make that much. The year before though was something else. I made a pair of book-ends, a table lamp, a shoe cleaning kit box/footrest, a wrought-iron poker and a cold chisel. A very good making year, I think you'll agree.

Yeah it was road side pani puri[^] in front of the school for us :) But I do remember winning a small time programming competition organized by VITM, Bangalore[^]. 2nd Prize 500 rupees for 3 of us and a course in "Internet Basics" by one of the sponsors. Life was good :)
