So, I got all the issues solved, and tried to submit our app. I got an error that Apple is not accepting software for this SDK version. As usual, Apple error messages are obscure and obtuse. What it means is, I am using a beta of the compiler ( it's so long since I did this stuff, I had no idea ). So, I spend $50 to buy the bandwidth to download the new one. Does Apple provide a download tool like Microsoft does when downloading 2 GB files ? No. The download says it's still going, and I am still connected to the web. It's choked at 1.86 GB tho, for the last 15 minutes. I need to go out, so I'll see where it is when I get back, but I expect I'll spend another $50 on another 2 GB and try again.

Send me $49, the URL of the download, and your address and I'll mail you a DVD with the download on it... ...hmmm, I think I'll start writing the business plan for that.

You really think you are going to successfully mail a DVD from the UK to Tasmania, to CG. He would then have to spend the next 2 weeks chasing it through the postal/courier systems to find the bloody thing!

That's too bad, you've lost any profit you might have made on your silly little app.

I had the same problem but with Firefox I was able to continue the download (even though Firefox crashed halfway through). 1. Go to your downloads directory and make a copy of the partially downloaded file. 2. Restart Firefox - this will start the download afresh and overwrite the partially downloaded file (thus step 1) 3. Pause the download 4. Copy the saved partially downloaded file (from 1) over the top of the file you are downloading 5. Unpause the download 6. Profit!! Hope this helps...

Hey CG, I'm up way North at the mo but it doesn't cost me anything to do such a download so, should the need arise I can do this for you. Mailing the DVD down to you would take about 4 days. Cost: DVD + postage It does mean though I would have to walk past the pub (twice) in the sunny 28+ C weather. (We all know that's not going to happen - especially as it would be during lunchtime)

Dave: But I don't wanna be a barbarian! Fang: You did when you were ten! Dave: Yes, but I thought it meant a librarian that also cuts hair.

That does make one wonder why he didn't use a download manager.
