32 for me - but that was when they were hard and you had to work for them. Grades A-C were passes, others were FAIL - not like the politically correct no-one fails they still get a GCSE even if they can't spell their own name correctly like these days - BAH HUMBUG!
He took it all too far, but boy could he play guitar!

Just talked to somebody whose nephew was killed earlier this month. He was due to get his results today. Very sad.
I have CDO, it's OCD with the letters in the right order; just as they ruddy well should be

GCSE results day. Got a call from my daughter - she's pleased with her results. Now I can get on with the rest of the day. Just because they are nearly grown up doesn't mean you stop worrying lol.

I remember when I got mine, 7 olevals, Oxbridge grade though, not the junk they pass off today. Took 11 in all. I was really happy about my History result, I got a C. It was the only one I revised for because I knoew I wasnt that good, but wanted to be better. All the sciences and maths I knew instinctively. Got a U for French though! Which is funny because now I likve in France and speak it 85% fluently. Eng lit and lang I think were a C and D. Geography a C, Art a C. Didnt care much for those though. Anyway, congrats to your daughter, its a stressfulll period over with. (Have to say though isnt it a bit late in the holls to get them? Normally they come through in the first few weeks no?)

It is. The worst part was that the son had stormed out of the house and gone to stay with his natural father shortly beforehand. He was killed when a North Sea Ferry ran over the fishing boat he'd gone out in (his natural father was a fisherman). The Ferry black box has proved that it was off course, and didn't take avoiding action until after impact - it sailed straight through 20 fishing boats.

Was this recently? I didnt hear anything in the news about it. Its a horrific enough incident to cause mass outrage in the UK being sea faring nation. This kind of behaviour by the ferry skipper would be enough to have him hanged!
