The decision[^] every parent should never have to make. Makes you wonder, what would you do and how would you live with your decision after?

Reason (and by this I mean evolutionary logic) dictates that the elder child would be the one to be saved, as he is the one that most of your resources have been spent on, and he is the one more likely to breed and continue the gene line. However, in this situation it is hard to be objective, and I only hope I am never put in a position to choose.

The stuff of nightmares. I hope the poor woman manages to one day forgive herself.

I just hope I will never have to. Still, I will never be pregnant, so maybe I could save the two of them.

This is no medicine, it would be genetics manipulation. Men don't need to get pregnant.

Actually there is only one physiological difference between men and women, and that is the Uterus. There would be no genetic manipulation, both sexes produce haploid gametes from the diploid germline, which undergo meiosis and, to simplify, use a reverse transcriptase (RNA Dependant DNA Polymerase) to recombine to form the new diploid line.

I disagree, the older child has a better chance of saving himself. The infant has no chance of that at all.

Xylophone ? Oh wait, this is no CCC, is it ? ;P First, to me, medicine is suppose to cure. Now I can't tell if a man with an uterus would be able to give birth, but a man who grows with an uterus would require some genetic manipulation of some sort, that's what I meant.

You could have made all that up and none of us would have been any the wiser! Having seen pregnancy and the birth of my little one, I am so very happy men aren't able to give birth. Nor would I be volunteering for any science experiments that allowed me too anytime soon.

You can have more children but I dont think you can ever 'replace' a child.

I'll be honest, I'm not smart enough to read that and understand at least 75% of it. Someone had a lot of fun coming up with names for these things though, Zygotes, Diploid, Gamete. It sounds like it belongs in Starcraft. Thank-you for the links though, I do like trying to learn new things.
