Actually, I find it useful to follow news and updates. Mind you, I don't use any social network to "follow" my "real" friends. I just use Twitter, and nothing else, to get news from other developers/companies/whatever interests me. Usually I browse daily tweets on the train.

It looks like a pyramid – they are not generating any profit, have no idea how to change this, but became bigger and bigger thus attracting new investors, spending their cash and became even bigger and so on to the inevitable bitter end or until some miracle happens/not very likely in this case/. Even the Facebook creates some value, keeping you connected with distant friends or family etc. but I fail to see any value in the twiter.
The narrow specialist in the broad sense of the word is a complete idiot in the narrow sense of the word. Advertise here – minimum three posts per day are guaranteed.

Me too (except for the train part, for me it's while eating breakfast). The new Twitter iPad app is awesome - aggregates tweets based on categories. Great for keeping up with various topics. Cheers, Drwe.
