It would be interesting to know if any of you Code Projecters are going to see The Lord Of The Rings at christmas (or should I ask who isn't going?) Or are you all LOTR purists, that'll scream if even one sentence or the storyline isn't as it is supposed to be? I've read somewhere, that the hobbits and humans will have an american accent . Well, I suppose it could be worse... I hope to be in england at the time, because I sure don't wanna see it in german (I had a glance at the book once, and it looked more like "Bored of The Rings" to me!) maXallion

I am SO there. My mom read my sister and I the Hobbit when I was a child (several times actually). I read it myself when I got a little older and then read the Lord of the Rings. I'm actually re-reading the series right now (just finished book two) to be ready for the movie. Nah, I'm no purist, but I hope they don't venture far from the story line. As long as they follow the plot of the book I'll be ecstatic. It really looks to be an awesome movie so far.

I'm open minded, and will be happy to be proven wrong, but I see no way that you can do justice to LOTR in a single movie. At a minimum you need a star wars like series to get it all in. BTW, what exactly is an "American Accent? Is that Georgia Cracker, or a Bronx accent, Standard Midwestern, New Hampshire Yankee, New Age California?

I never finished the book. I got most of the way to the end. It scared me a lot. I had lots of dreams about monsters in the forest and so forth. But this was a long time ago. I can't remember why I didn't finish the book. I think I lost the book and when I found it again I couldn't remember where to start. Definitely going to see it. I think American accents will ruin my mental image of it. But yes, I'm going. And I hope its a lot better than the anti climax that was the Phantom Menace (you'd think after IV, V and VI that I would be at least as good and without Mr Binks). I can't wait to see it. I've read everything JRR ever wrote, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Histories of Middle Earth I'm not purist...The first I heard of the Hobbit was a cartoon and the Disney Channel I plan to re-read the the books in time for the movie. I only hope doing so doesn't deepen any disapointment

Well, what can I say... There are three movies. The first one is coming to the cinemas this christmas, the other two xmas02 and 03. the official movie site is http://www.lordoftherings.net there are also hundreds of other sites devoted to LOTR & tolkien (of which I know none :-O ) try something like http://www.thelordoftherings.com as a starting point if you want to know more. When I've got time I'll update the "Middle Earth" section on my Homepage, but that won't be anytime soon :(( maXallion
