So what can I do? No code to go over since manager took ownership of it and is going through it. Facebook, some CP and sleep, maybe? What do you do when you only have a few days left at a client site and work is all done?

Realize that Friday at 3:30 the users will actually start testing and discover a critical feature that is missing after your contract expires and have no way to pay you to fix it. And although the fix is minor, one day at most, you can do it for free because it would set a bad precedent and you still have to consider that 4 day turn around for complete testing and approval. But that is just me :)

tests, tests and more tests and document them all.

Great advice, but ya know, if the circumstances were better and it ended the way it 'should' have I would consider doing the extra work..but alas it didn't and I'm not ;P but thanks for the advice anyway.

I once used a similar allotment of time to write a version of tetris that ran in the system tray as an icon. You had to really squint to see what was going on, but no one knew you were playing.

I don't recall ever being in that position, it seems to me there is always something the users wanted that just never got into the specs or a report that needs tweaking. Having said that whenever I have completed a contract I have always left with the offer to be available for support, not once in over 20 contracts have I ever been contacted after the contract. I have had multiple contracts with some clients but never been contacted outside of a contract, weird! Go play with some new/different tech, there is always something to learn in this game.
