Please help me find an Airfix kit - edited
-
I am trying to find an Airfix kit (or similar plastic model kit) of an MH-60G "Pave Hawk" helicopter, or if I can't find that I'll settle for any the other similar H-60 variants like the UH-60, HH-60 or even a CH-60, just so long as the kit can be modified to resemble the Pave Hawk without too much skill. Anyone? [edit] As I added below, I have (as always) searched high and low on this before I asked here, but I am unable to find anywhere locally or anywhere online that stock this kit and can ship to the UK. If you know of anywhere that might be able to help me I would really appreciate it if you could pass on the details. [.edit]

did you try this: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=pave+hawk+model+kit[^]. ? cause i get 400+ hits.
A conclusion is simply the place where someone got tired of thinking.

ROTFL !!!! Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002 Hey, at least Logo had, at it's inception, a mechanical turtle. VB has always lacked even that... - Shog9 04-09-2002 Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

I did something similar on Yahoo! about a week ago and got a load of results too, but after wading through about forty of them I found not one that were available to me. Half were reviews of some sort and the other half were from American shops where (if even possible) the shipping would triple the cost of the model kit, and for sometihng so relatively cheap I can't really justify that. :(( I've even been to my local model shop, but aparently it is not possible for them to source Academy kits individually. I could order the Italeri MH-60 kit online, but from looking around it had a lot of bad reviews, and not being an especailly skilled model maker myself I think it may be out of my range. I was hoping that either one of your guys/gals had previously bought one and could advise, or else knew of somewhere I could try.

Do you want some one to check and see what options there may be to get it to you from the states? (I.E. can this take some time or are you in a hurry?) How close are you to Samlesbury? I am hoping to buy one in time for xmas, but importing from the States is going to be very expensive - I'd need priority shipping, insurance and then be prepared to be hit with a customs bill when it reaches my door. The kit is around £40 as best as I can tell, and the importing costs would double that if not more. I don't want anyone to go out of their way to help me here, but if someone happens to have bought a model kit recently and knows of a friendly shop I could call (UK) or maybe even one that could ship from stock (again, UK) then I would be immensily gratified. If there is a large mutlinational company in the States that sells abroad with reasonable shipping changes, then I'd be interested in them too. My priority is to find *any* H-60 model kit at around 1:35 to 1:45 scale, though preferably the Academy kit (#2201) as I heave heard very good reviews about them.

Hello I'm Courtney Love and I like to kill Otters with a spade
Thanks to Michael for offering to help and to Chris for being the token smartarse (:-D) but I have now been referred to a model company here in the UK that has the kit I was ideally after in stock (Academy kit #2201, 1:35 scale, MH-60G Pave Hawk[^]) by another owner fo the kit I had also contacted for instructions about a week ago but presumed was not heard at the time. Thanks to anyone else who was thinking about helping that I didn't mention above.

David Wulff wrote: could order the Italeri MH-60 kit online, but from looking around it had a lot of bad reviews, Generally Italeri makes good stuff for a rather economical price. Even if I prefer Tamyia, I don't remember being ever disappointed with an Italeri model Anyway, nice to see another CPian interested in plastic models :)
