Just curious because I may be in the running for an interview. Anyone in the community here that has worked for Disney as a software engineer? Is it a good career move? How does it compare to the atmosphere working at Microsoft?

I heard that MS paid well, but Walt Disney.

It's fine as long as you believe in fairies. (Every time you say you don't believe in software, a programmer dies)

Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

I heard on rumor 3rd hand and from unreliable sources that the Pixar programmers, animators, management (well just about everyone) hated their Disney masters. Situation was further aggravated when Tinker Bell was found kicking the crap out of tied up Buzz Light Year.

Rumor is that he likes his fairies ruff. At least that's the way Goofy termed it...

I'm prepared to guess that if you're going to work at Disney, you'd better get used to it. Enough to drive you *Looney Tunes* otherwise

When you work at Microsoft the best you can hope for is lunch with Steve and maybe Dinner with Bill. But at Disney you get to go trick-or-treat-ing with Zac and Cody, and then if you have trouble sleeping at night Miley will sing you a really nice lullaby.

When I was in L.A. (2001-2002) I worked with some who had -- they didn't much like it, but said that it was something everyone should do. So go for it, I guess.

He does not particularly care much for it although when there's nothing else that interests him, Zac and Cody used to keep him interested enough for a few minutes so we could feed him some food (he is very resistant to eating).
