Is painful. Thank the heavens for drugs that numb the pain

You don't sound any stupider, though.

Let's count how many ways that can be read.

I had all four of mine out at once. Three came out with no problem, but the roots broke off the fourth and the guy had to do some major excavation. I hate dentists... X|

I like the way he's suckered you into using passive voice. What actually happened is that the dentist broke the roots; they didn't do it to themselves.

You're ~30, right? Do wisdom teeth come out that late? :omg: My first wisdom tooth appeared when I was 22, I thought that was kinda late. I had a pair pop up late last year that had to be removed. It was painful, but not all that much. The swelling didn't subside for several days though.

My sister's wisdom teeth did not come out till she was 27. But this one was extracted because the crown got chipped badly.

Been there done that. All 4 of mine that came in over the course of about 5 years and they all grew in high and ended up cracking the crowns off. Big mess back there now. Already ended up with one yanked but I have 3 left... The problem now is that with all the meds I am on (Chemo, etc...) no one wants to touch me with anything or prescribe me anything, so there they sit. No pain, and the last one that got pulled years ago ended up coming out pretty cleanly, but... I tried to get the dentist to just do it THEN but he didn't feel like doing it @ midnight :) Yeah, I was an 'emergency pull'... He should have known.. you let me out of the dentist office I am not coming back :)

Good thread Mustafa! Much better than the usual Lounge style pissing contest, "My Joke is better/worse than yours" or "That's nothing, I can remember when we had to carve each transistor from a block of solid silicon". No we have "My toofy-peg hurtsies more than yours". Still, you all have my sympathies, I hate going to the dentist for even a checkup, so having pain involved as well really sucks. No wait, you can't yet can you?

I have no ripostes Henry. But I wouldn't wish this on you. Drinking Coffee/Tea/Hot Cocoa was quite messy the first day and when the pain killers wear out.

Had two of mine out in my early twenties, the top I think which are supposed to be easy, the bottom being the problem. No biggy, but I had to give a talk about something (I think it may have been MS FrontPage) straight afterwards and I was fairly incomprehensible and spitting / dribbling blood everywhere throughout.

Well, as of 9/30/2010 I reached my one year mark and at this point I have to say that 'I made it this far'. Mixed feelings about that because there have been some people that I had grown to know though all this and were diagnosed around the same time that I was that did not make it that far, a testament to this 'things' nasty habit of playing different games with different people. Taking things as they come and so far I am doing well. I can say that I am holding it at bay, but as far as beating it goes, that I have to leave up to the DRs. Thanks for the follow up :) It's nice to know that others remember. How are you doing?

Shoot man, last I heard was you were still getting diagnosed. Didn't know how it went after that. You will be in my prayers Rick. I'll always ask about and try my best to be there for a friend. I'm OK. Had two relapses this year which were thankfully both short lived and light. On a scale of 1-10, they were both a 1. But of course, both needed Cortizon based medication which made me blimp up like the Michelin man. So I got a gastric lap band operation done and my weight is dropping like a stone (around 80lbs in 5 months now) and that has been minimizing the effects of MS. Constant intake of Vitamin D (pills/sun) and B-12 (shots) has done wonders. Planning a move back to Canada/USA this January when I'll have finished my last remaining contract. All in all, living each day. Oh, and we're delivering Mathew tomorrow at 9 in the morning my time and I'll be with my wife in the delivery room :)
