I have created a zip file which is larger than 4 gig using winzip! Winzip doesn't seem to be able to unzip this file! Does anyone know a utility which could unzip this giant file? thanks :confused: bart

I think the current zip file format is limited to 4gb. The zip might be trashed. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

Actually, an offset to Zip Central Directory structure (at the end of a file) should not be longer than DWORD, but a decompressor can ignore ZCD (this info seems to be redundant), so main requirement is to keep each data chunk less then 4 GB. :suss: gnk

Try winace[^] (well, its best for almost any kind of archive) btw: the ACE format has no limitations of this kind and is generally better than most other archive formats (including cab, rar and zip)

I don't think this is a serious possesion, and the evil most likely comes from your hand. Colin J Davies, The Lounge
