You know that you never put anything important in your hold luggage, right?

Yes, everything that seemed stealable is with me ( such as video games, etc ). As well as spare undies so I could change after the club shower. But, I bought a lot of stuff this time, I couldn't carry it all on, there's still presents for the kids, and two guitars, in the stuff I am waiting for.

Welcome back to sanity, or some semblance of it. I think one of your bags is here in Bullhead City, though; there's a crowd at the airport looking through a pile of magazines, and the Vice Squad has been called.:suss:

Good luck. I am sure you will get it back, but in what condition is anybody's guess. If it is anything like the Heathrow debacle then it could be unpleasant.

Well, yeah, I'll get SOMETHING back. I had three bags, and they made me seperate the two guitars I had taped up together, the smaller of the two, I am not overly confident in it's ability to survive too much rough treatment. I will be raising hell, tho.

Not to mention the fact that a 10 hour flight requires a fair bit of reading material. I often frustrated me that, even though I'd buy two large novels at the airport for a 4 or 5 hour flight, I regularly finished them before we landed and I had to spend the rest of the flight admiring the view. For those who've never taken a red-eye across the US, the view is nothing to write home about at midnight.

I have flown Auckland to LA at night, half way you see the lights of an island. That is the highlight of the trip!

I slept 8-9 hours on this flight, watched one movie, read a bit and we were there.

So, I am in Sydney, waiting for a Hobart flight. My bags are apparently in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and no-one knows when I will get them. I was told they have 800 bags just flat out lost right now.

Last time I flew they lost my bag as well, took them 5 days to find and get them to me, just in time for me to open them throw everything I had to buy in them and close them again for the return trip. So good luck, and I hope you get them back in better condition than mine was (had to tape the damn thing together so it wouldn't fall apart on the return trip, was more tape than anything else in the end)

I hope there is nothing like valuable things in your bags; with the current terrorist alert level at its maximum, they could find a way to sort the lost baggage problem very quickly...
