If I recall correctly, these are the same people who last year proposed getting rid of all the doge because of their high carbon footprint, as reported in The Back Room. I also recall that I responded that it would make more sense to get rid of the humans first, as they had a much higher footprint. My opinion is that these people are jerks - in fact, jerkier than a very jerky thing. Come the revolution, they should be the first up against the wall.

If you read the article, they are tongue-in-cheek suggesting getting rid of all the dogs (and cats :(( ). I think it's a pretty safe bet that this is a reincarnation of that earlier attempt to grab the headlines. Or in their case, there's no such thing as bad publicity. But being serious for a moment, the real problem is the growing carbon footprint of the exponentially growing population of this planet. I find it quite amazing that so few (allegedly) clever politicians find it so hard to grasp this simple fact - or do I mean admit it?

But a plasma TV can squash a dozen hamsters so...

Perhaps those very same politicians should volunteer to <Scrooge>decrease the surplus population</Scrooge>?
