In one way, you're right. But here's the explanation: It is my understanding from reading posts of a similar type (all made by Indians) - that you like this sort of texts in India. There's nothing wrong with that. But a big part of western users will feel like upchucking (like DD). Luckily it was posted before lunch... ;) Therefor: Posting stuff like this in the lounge will often generate a rain of univotes, whereas it will generate 5-votes in GIT. Hence my suggestion - for the OP's own sake...

Actually, I have always been against opening the Indian forum, because I didn't like the way it separates users in two or more camps. But now that it is there, and you have the opportunity of directing a post towards the people that will appreciate it the most, why not use it?

I realize your original post was not said with malice, my apologies for jumping the gun. I've seen some nasty comments like "Where's the 'Move to the Indian forum' button?" that really piss me off.

Not all of us do :)

So in what way is a gargoyle synonymous with a freak? You're out on a limb here trying to rescue what little honour you have left... ;P

I never mentioned being a gargoyle, merely a Grotesque.

So you're satisfied being a thesaurus grotesque? :) OK, if you apply it to yourself then I'll buy it, otherwise I will still maintain that the term "a thesaurus grotesque" makes little or no sense at all... :-\

Grotesque isn't used much as a noun now, but it still is one (because of legacy texts that contain it being used so).

Nonsense. Look at some of the work by Quentin Matsys. He painted Grotesques. Here is a picture of one.[^]

A grotesque is what hangs off a cathedral. It is like a Gargoyle, only it does not act at a rainwater remover. Perhaps a dictionary would help you... See under the Noun terms[^] or maybe a Picture[^].

Me too. There shouldn't be separate fora for different programming languages, movie watchers, book readers, sports fans, people of certain ages or places, or Barbie lovers, either. There should be one, and only one, Internet forum, where everyone posts messages about anything and from any perspective. Wading through 750,000,000,000 messages a day is not too high a price to pay for togetherness.
