A couple of personal stories to go along with that one. 1. Singapore, 1984. Stray cat that had 'adopted' us faced off a cobra in the back yard. Much dancing and weaving. Cobra eventually got bored and went through the fence. 2. Blue Mountains, 2006. My cat brings 60cm brown snake into the dining room for my wife to play with. (I was out.) She was NOT amused! [Claw marks in the wallpaper were not cat-sized. :laugh: ] Cat got the message, so a few weeks later when a snake appeared in the back yard, cat wouldn't let wife go hang out the laundry. Did a regular sheepdog act to keep her on the deck. Cheers, Peter

I don't know about your US alligators but the cat would last about 2.5 second if that was an Oz salty. Those are some seriously tame/well fed beasties, a salty would have swallowed the cats, dragged the kid in for a proper meal and his mate would have got the guy wandering around the boat.
