That depends on her assets - if hers are fake, yours can be artistic simulations, too. But if they're real, you don't dare attempt to substitute imitations for the real thing. This can be a tricky issue on a first date; until you get her between the sheets it can be hard to audit her books.

I know a lot of women who would love to meet you, date you, accept your gifts, and dump you like a sack of rotten potatoes for another sucker when you run out of money and gifts. I admire and honor your thought, if only because it reminds me of me - 30 years ago. In a perfect world, your approach would work perfectly, and your perfect woman would fall into your life and live happily ever after. But that perfect world hasn't existed since Beaver Cleaver's show got cancelled. And, I should note here, that there are just as many opportunistic men as women - it's not gender specific, but rather follows the culture; male dominated cultures spawn opportunistic females, and female-dominated cultures the opposite. Still, even though I know better, if I had it all to do over, I would still do it your way (as I did). Give the best you can afford, expect the best possible outcome, and be crushed when reality stomps you into the dirt. I still think it's worth it to risk all on the outside chance that this might the exception. Old dogs can learn new tricks, but some of us don't want to... :-D

Anyplace in the back three rows will do; you can grope her all you want (correction - all she wants) and the projectionist can't see you. And the ushers are still nightblind for about 5 rows as they walk in from the lights in the lobby...

So if, at the end of the night her debits balance her credits, that would sum it up. Tell her you're interested in a trial balance, her journal or yours, and see if that registers. We'll expect a full account, of course.

Fart in front of her in an obvious way. Don't even try to hide it, but don't act proud of it either. If she doesn't freak out, she's the perfect woman. If she runs off, she wasn't worth it anyway.

Just try to relax: don't start gushing and DO NOT give her anything on the first date; no flowers or chocolates or little gifts: that is just creepy. The best way to be is amusing: make a woman laugh and you've pretty much done all you need to do. And do not force a kiss at the end of the date: let it happen and it doesn't always. Whatever happens be polite and charming: she'll appreciate it which means you might get to appreciate it! Oh, and do not put on too much after shave; best not to use anything that makes you smell odd. Most of all just have fun.

Digital's advice is probably the best in this thread so far. Do NOT turn up with gifts - the signal you're giving is that you're not good enough on your own so you need to buy her time and affection. Not a good thing. Also realise that she's probably at least as nervous as you - it's your job to set her at ease by being a man and leading the way. That means that you've got to act comfortable and relaxed. Don't push into her personal space - lean back. This will make you appear less needy and more confident. Try not to fidget and don't feel like you've got to fill every second of time with conversation. The big one - first dates aren't about you. This is an opportunity for her to talk about herself (which most women love to do!) Ask about her interests, family, friends, experiences. Don't talk over her and try not to interrupt or be rude like that. Try and pick up on things she says and ask questions about that. Dinner for two is fine on a first date (though not what I'd do personally). See if you can meet her for a drink in a nice bar first so you can say hello and have a chat for a few minutes. Don't drink too much - you'll want to keep an eye on this, especially if you're nervous. Above all, try and enjoy yourself - if you can have fun, this will rub off on her and she'll have fun too and that's got to work out better. Remember, attraction isn't a choice - it's something you can create!

OK, I think the barrel of monkeys is empty now. Since any future relationship requires friendship why not treat it as having a meal with someone and simply enjoying the companionship? Being able to share things - e.g. kind of films - can open up conversations and it is fine to have different interests. I'm saying to simply enjoy time with someone and if a relationship develop in time then that is something else. It's a way to take the pressure off and be yourself. Good luck. Elaine :rose:

Stick a fresh fish in your pocket. If conversation gets difficult, whip it (the fish) out as a magic trick. Works for me all the time.

And her reply would be: "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"

 Reminds me of a scene in Pulp Fiction about uncomfortable silences.
