SORRY!! I'm lookin' for a really glitzy yet compact list/grid kind of control. I don't care what it's written in, ONLY what it looks like. The prettier the better. I won't be using the actual code. Just want to make my own fiiiiine lookin' list control. And please don't bug me about reinventing the wheel :-O 'preciate it! ...Steve

How about something in rosé, mauve and purple, sprinkled with silver particles that sparkle, when you move your mouse over the control and a rainbow-coloured halo around the borders? And you could call it GlitziBitziGrid.

aaaalright, cut me some slack, Jack. I just thought SOMEbody had actually used a list control that didn't look like a grey robot. I've been sufficiently scolded now. Let me go reinvent my wheel in peace :-\

I've used the grid control from DevExpress[^] and like it. AFIK they have a free 30day trial where you could experiment with it to get the appearance you want.

Go take a look at each of the vendors sites, they almost all have hyped up, over the top demos of their grids.

Hi Stephen, If you are not looking for a "grid" with "formulas," but for a List, check out Lidor Systems TreeListView (supports hierarchy) and other List controls. Built-in virtualisation for fast access, save and restore to/from XML built in. Very easy to graphically customize, useful set of built in themes including those with typical "looks" for Vista/W7, etc. [^] best, Bill (no connection with Lidor other than being a very satisfied customer for their .NET suite) "Many : not conversant with mathematical studies, imagine that because it [the Analytical Engine] is to give results in numerical notation, its processes must consequently be arithmetical, numerical, rather than algebraical and analytical. This is an error. The engine can arrange and combine numerical quantities as if they were letters or any other general symbols; and it fact it might bring out its results in algebraical notation, were provisions made accordingly." Ada, Countess Lovelace, 1844
