I used to code
-
There are people whom I meet they are proud, some are managers, they are good in using word, excel and good presentations and delegating duties to programmers and pushing them to meet deadlines, they say they also used to code those days but they nolonger, reason not given. In addition they are highly paid. Are you in this category?

I wonder why you ask this (in a developer forum). Are you looking for a discussion of being promoted to management from a developer position, or possibly looking for someone to vent against b/c you manager is a PITA. There are a number of paths up the food chain, some lead to management so there are lots of management staff with some knowledge of programming. The best way to make them uncomfortable is to change from VB to C#, pisses them off every time.

Over my dead body :)
A while ago he asked me what he should have printed on my business cards. I said 'Wizard'. I read books which nobody else understand. Then I do something which nobody understands. After that the computer does something which nobody understands. When asked, I say things about the results which nobody understand. But everybody expects miracles from me on a regular basis. Looks to me like the classical definition of a wizard.

I've been a programmer for 30 years, and have no desire to be a "manager".
