If you've got a job to go to then it's usually pretty easy. I'm originally from the UK, but have so far worked in Hungary, Singapore and Sweden in a permenant basis. Travel the world and get someone to pay.

European culture or European descended culture is astonishingly similar. So culturally and socially you won't see that big a difference in life between the UK and Canada. It's different if you are from a non-European country like China, India or Kenya. Of course there'll be new accents, new laws, different weather patterns etc. but that'd be like moving across the country in England.

The most important difference is ending your sentences with "eh?" instead of "what?".

I'd actually like to try driving with the steering wheel on the other side for a change.

What part of BC are you looking at geographically because that would make a big difference. For example, the island runs at a much lower pace than Vancouver.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Well India just followed whatever their pre-independence rulers taught them to. Doesn't mean it's right or wrong :-) Most of Europe, US, Canada and most of Africa drive on the right. UK and its former colonies/domains like India, Pakistan and Australia drive on the left.

On that one, you'll probably have to learn to use the middle finger instead of the 2 finger salute.

Im good at that already ;-)

I drove on the right yesterday on the way home from work.... It was to avoid a large trench being dug by some annoying workmen JC

I have a couple of friends who have done Australia to UK, and quite a few who have done UK to Australia, New Zealand or US, and a couple to Canada. Only issue for any of them has been if something 'goes wrong' back home you are at least a day away from getting there.
Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

At the moment, Vernon BC is a possibility....

Ah, be glad to know that there are no annoying workmen in Canada, in fact you'll struggle to find any workmen at all.

I did not know that. I guess the US prefers the XY insult and the UK prefers the XX.

Actually pre Napoleon the French and the rest of europe drove on the left too, as it was to pass sword arm to sword arm. Napoleon made everyone change as it made his troops look like the were traveling in the opposite direction. Latest research has also pointed out that as the majority of people are right handed the reaction to situation is to serve left in the UK etc this is away from oncoming traffic and to the curb, in US etc this is into traffic - ouch. so most of those who do drive on the right do so because of the French, never a good reason for doing something
You cant outrun the world, but there is no harm in getting a head start
